
Nellie K. Shipley is recognized by Continental Who’s Who among Law Professionals. Nellie is a Member at Womble, Carlyle, Sandridge & Rice, Pllc, a practice focused on the acquisition, entitlement, development, re-development, operation, and disposition of real property.
Nellie has earned LEED Professional Accreditation, the leading professional accreditation in the “green”, construction and development industry. In addition, she represents developers across the Southwestern United States.
Additionally, Nellie assists with the negotiation and documentation of acquisitions, including economic incentives where applicable; land use issues including entitlements, governmental approvals and vested rights; and the development, operation, management and disposition of real property, including the preparation of declarations, restrictive covenants, property owner association and condominium documentation, easement agreements, leases and various forms of financing, and implementation of "green" and "sustainable" elements.
Nellie is a founding member of the Triangle District Council of the Urban Land Institute, and currently serves on its executive board and as its Vice Chair, Communications and Public Relations. She has also been involved with the Cary Chamber of Commerce and Triangle Commercial Real Estate Women, and serves as their Chair and President, respectively. Nellie considers participation and community involvement to be an important part of her professional life.
Nellie earned her undergraduate degree in Computer Science and was associated for a number of years thereafter with an international consulting firm that focused on pharmaceutical and health products companies.
